This is a free web based time recording system that allows the creation of projects within your organisation. The user may also create new users within their organisation that may share projects. Written in Ruby on Rails. Migrated and re-wrote www.exoticdirect.co.uk. This is a PHP based pet insurance website written in PHP with a MySQL database. Customers can get quotations, order cover and submit claims. There is an admin system which allows data collection and affiliate management. Designed and built the yetiserver. This is a Linux distribution based originally on Red Hat 8, then Fedora Core 4, with a PHP web control panel. The system is deployed as a hardware appliance on the customer's site. Using the web interface, they can easily set up network parameters, create users, create groups etc. Assisted with the analysis, design and implementation of the 24-7 Claims Project. This was a web based business-to-business application that allowed sales teams to enter personal accident claim details for perusal by solicitors (the other users of the system). The system was extended from the Apache Turbine/velocity framework with Java servlets built by an outsourced team. The O/S was Redhat Linux 8.0 on a dedicated host and the database used was MySQL, which was set up and administered by myself. Designed and built a Case Tracker system for a client who ran an Accident Investigation company. The system was again web-based and written in PHP running under the Apache web server with a MySQL database. The architecture was composed of three very independent layers. The presentation layer was template-based which meant that an HTML programmer could alter the look and feel of the system with no knowledge of PHP or MYSQL. The data abstraction layer was designed to make a database vendor switch easy. The idea here was that the various investigators employed by the company could log in and maintain their case details while the management could track what was happening. Hardware Used
