The Embarrassing Moments Vault

The Pizza Slice (by Andy White, Brighton, UK)

I was walking into Brighton Station one morning on my way to work. This chap, in a poor way, obviously homeless and hungry, asked me for some money. I just ignored him and carried on into the station. But then I felt guilty and remembered that I had two slices of pizza in may bag that I had saved from dinner the night before for my lunch. In a fit of generosity, I headed back out of the station and found this man. I said to him, "Are you hungry?", "Yeh," he said. So I gave him the pizza slices. Feeling really great about myself I proudly marched back into the station and looked back to see how he was getting on. It was then that I saw the gleeful look on his face as he shared his pizza with his girlfriend - "...he didn't have anyone with him", I thought. Then I realised, I had given the pizza to a different guy, just a regular guy by the station with his girlfriend.

The Caravans (by Val Mellors, Brighton, UK)

I was once on a caravan holiday in the Isle-Of Wight, with my extended family. We were staying in a big caravan, which was situated in a semi-circle of other similar vans. One day I returned to the van and walked in the open door adjusting my shorts and complaining about how fat I was. The TV was on very loud and I remarked that somebody in the van must be deaf to have it on "so bloody loud". As I sat down, near the door, a small dog ran up to greet me. I had never seen the dog before. I looked up from adjusting my shorts and was confronted by five total strangers! I had gone into the wrong van. I was very apologetic (as they turned down the TV) but they reassured me that I had made their whole week worth while (?). They considered it a really wonderful story. I'm not sure it is.....
